Welcome to the community website for Street.   

The next Council meeting will be held on 20th November at 7.30 p.m. in the Main Hall, Elmhurst School, Elmhurst Lane, Street.  Items to be considered include the budget and precept for 2009/10, an update on the new skateboard/BMX park, possible parking restrictions at Anthony Road.   A special Council meeting will be held on 27th November at 7 p.m. at Elmhurst School Hall to consider Pioneer Somerset - Survey on Devolution of Services.  

The Planning Committee will meet at 6 p.m. on 20th November at Elmhurst School to discuss planning applications received and the next meeting will be held on 4th December at 6 p.m. in Room 20, Crispin Community Centre, Leigh Road, Street and will be followed at 7 p.m. by the official switch on of the Christmas tree lights in Leigh Road.

Projects currently being considered are the new skateboard/BMX park, renovation of Merriman Park including moving the war memorial to the edge of the Park and providing a new memorial, enhancement of the High Street but no road closure and possible purchase of a building for Council and community use.  Anyone wishing to be involved with or to comment on these issues is asked to contact the Council.
